Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and recommend funding opportunities that align with Lines for Life's mission and programs.
  • Coordinate grant proposal logistics, including timelines, resource assignments, proposal submissions, and results.
  • Organize and lead regular grant meetings to review and evaluate upcoming opportunities and discuss deadlines, action items, and delegate roles for current grants.
  • Help draft and edit grant proposals and reports, soliciting input from stakeholders from other departments, and package and submit proposals.
  • Attend funder RFP meetings, pre-proposal conferences, grant workshops, and other relevant events.
  • Track the submission of grants and grant reporting, maintaining grant reporting deadlines with report writers and confirming follow-through.
  • Solicit feedback from funders on positioning new requests and reasons requests are denied.
  • Attend grant funder site visits and interviews with program teams as directed by the Development Director.
  • Research and implement grant management software to efficiently research grant opportunities and manage funders, tasks, applications, reports, and important grant documents.
  • Connect with the Chief Financial Officer regularly to develop and update project budgets for grants.
  • Reconcile grant and unrestricted income with the finance office on a monthly basis using Salesforce reporting.
  • Provide support to the development team with fundraising events coordination.
  • Assist the Director with Salesforce and Excel reporting skills.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned by the Director of Development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and trainings in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an administrative position, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Familiarity with development work and grant writing.
  • Strong analytical skills and database management experience.
  • Project coordination experience, and experience with major fundraising preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, donor database management experience, and internet research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to present information, including grant outcomes and deliverables, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience in grant writing.
  • Experience in the Development field in the Pacific Northwest and/or healthcare-related foundations.
  • Advanced Salesforce and Excel reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and Federal grant programs.
Work Environment:

This position typically comes into the Portland office on Tuesdays through Thursdays and has the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. The in-office and at-home days are subject to change based upon the needs of the Development department.
