Job Overview:

The NORTH SUFFOLK COMMUNITY SERVICES INC is a dynamic organization committed to providing exceptional services to individuals living in residential settings. As a Residential Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping residents achieve their goals and live a fulfilling life.

In this position, you will work closely with residents to identify their personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests, and help them establish goals that support a life in recovery. You will also assist residents with daily living skills, transportation, and administrative tasks, as well as provide side-by-side support and coaching to help them become more involved in their community.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of human behavior and development, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of experience working with individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders, are also required. Certification in MAP within five months of hire, and a valid driver's license, are also necessary. ASL fluency is a plus
