Support Services Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services. As a Residential Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to individuals living in a residential setting, assisting with daily living skills, transportation, and other areas based on the person-centered treatment plan.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to help residents achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective communication with residents and families.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to document resident progress and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in providing supportive services.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
- Experience: In lieu of college degree, at least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Must be fluent in American Sign Language.
- Skills: Valid driver's license, MAP certification (or ability to obtain within five months), and CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within five months).
Compensation and Benefits:
- $48,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Paid Time Off - two weeks' vacation per year (three weeks after one year of service), 12 sick days per year, and 11 paid holidays per year.
