The California Eastern District Court is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time term law clerk role within our Sacramento office. This position involves providing essential support to two U.S. Magistrate Judges, the Honorable Chi Soo Kim and the Honorable Carolyn K. Delaney.


The law clerk will engage in comprehensive research and drafting related to civil litigation and Social Security appeals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Thoroughly reviewing legal pleadings.
  • Drafting judicial orders on various matters before the judges.

This role will primarily be conducted at our Sacramento courthouse, with the possibility of occasional telework, subject to the approval of the supervising judges.


The initial appointment term will be established for a duration of up to two years, with the potential for extension for an additional two years, totaling a maximum of four years.


We are looking for a candidate who is prepared to begin employment shortly after the specified start date.
