Role Overview:


The Senior Security Operations Center Analyst is responsible for identifying and assessing potential information security threats and vulnerabilities, prioritizing risks in collaboration with business stakeholders.

This role involves developing strategies and solutions to remediate or mitigate identified risks, implementing these solutions, monitoring their effectiveness, and continuously enhancing SOC operations.

Incidents and events are managed, mitigated, or resolved, with documentation maintained as necessary.
The Analyst is tasked with configuring and sustaining security tools for scanning, monitoring, alerting, and reporting.

Collaboration with team members is essential for evaluating events, managing incidents, executing data forensic efforts, remediating exposures, and documenting findings.

The effectiveness of the SOC is evaluated, with a focus on ongoing program improvement. The SOC is integrated into a comprehensive information security framework.

Leadership in defining or enhancing security policies, technical controls, processes, and standards across Security and other IT departments is also a key responsibility.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize various resources, including industry news, threat analysis, and historical data, to identify security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with business units and other risk functions to ascertain technology security requirements through methods such as risk and business impact assessments.
  • Prioritize business security risks and formulate mitigation strategies and plans.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting tools, including executive dashboards and reporting.
  • Conduct event and alert analysis and provide resolutions.
  • Oversee incident and event resolution, ensuring effective communication and reporting.
  • Coordinate and complete security operations documentation.
  • Work alongside IT and information security teams to identify, select, and implement technical controls.
  • Develop security processes and procedures, supporting service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure security controls are effectively managed.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend information security-related hardware and software, including crafting business cases for security investments.
  • Provide advanced support and analysis during and post-security incidents.
  • Engage in security investigations and compliance reviews as requested by auditors.
  • Research and assess new threats and security alerts, recommending appropriate remedial actions.

Qualifications & Interests:
  • Advanced skills in information security threat analysis.
  • Extensive experience with security systems and software, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption, DLP, and endpoint protection.
  • Proficient in evaluating and securing complex application, network, server, workstation, and database systems.
  • In-depth understanding of the evolving cyber threat landscape.
  • Experience in security and emergency data incident response.
  • Expertise in vulnerability management across various systems.
  • Ability to address inquiries from audits and clients.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile IT Project Management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
