Job Overview:

Digital Prospectors is seeking an Information Security Assurance Analyst to evaluate, interpret, and execute information assurance and security engineering protocols.

The Information Security Assurance Analyst will establish criteria for business continuity, operational security, cryptography, forensic analysis, regulatory adherence, internal counterespionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), and physical security evaluations to optimally safeguard organizational assets.

This role involves assessing and mitigating security vulnerabilities and risks throughout the program lifecycle. The Analyst will validate security requirements, conduct thorough analysis, and implement security designs across hardware, software, data, and procedural frameworks. Responsibilities also include verifying security requirements, planning and testing system certification and accreditation, and engaging in liaison activities. The Analyst will support secure systems operations and maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop policies, plans, and procedures in accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), safeguarding covered defense information, and Cyber Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).

2. Conduct risk assessments and generate reports on DFARS and NIST compliance.

3. Audit information systems following NIST SP 800-37, CMMC, and DFARS frameworks.

4. Evaluate compliance requirements with government regulations and prepare necessary documentation and policies.

5. Perform detailed risk analysis of security exceptions through the data security plan process.

6. Recommend and devise mitigations to allow ongoing research despite deviations from standard security controls.

7. Formulate and enforce information security policies.

8. Engage in staff security outreach and training.

9. Assess security risks associated with emerging technologies.

10. Assist in vulnerability management operations by documenting and reporting findings.

11. Support incident response and remediation efforts.


Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is required. Technical experience and industry IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA) may substitute for formal education. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Proven knowledge of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, contract clauses, safeguarding covered defense information, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is essential.

General familiarity with enterprise security tools, including vulnerability scanners, log aggregators, networking, firewalls, and VPNs is expected.

Experience with various operating systems such as Windows Server, Windows 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, and Mac is beneficial.

Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP, and CIS Controls is advantageous.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.

Some local and overnight travel may be required (less than 10%).

In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, such as NIST SP 800-30, Factor Analysis of Information Risk (FAIR), or Operationally Critical Threat, Asset, and Vulnerability Evaluation (OCTAVE) is preferred.

Prior experience in a DoD Industrial Security environment is a plus.

Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required; however, an active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
