Position Overview:
The Senior Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the operational maintenance, service, and repair of equipment as designated. This position involves directing and overseeing the Maintenance team as instructed by the Property Engineer and/or General Manager.

Accountable for the daily operations of the maintenance division, ensuring the effective completion of maintenance tasks and responsibilities assigned.

This role also includes participation in the preventative maintenance program, addressing guest requests, and managing other work orders as required.

It is essential to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner, executing various trade tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more.

Driving a shuttle van may be necessary based on property requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Experience in hospitality or a related industry is preferred.

A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Licensure in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is preferred.

A valid driver's license for the applicable state is required.

An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is necessary, specific to the property.

Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly is essential.

Must be capable of quickly and accurately evaluating and selecting among alternative courses of action.

Ability to perform well in high-pressure situations is crucial.

Effectiveness in addressing workplace issues, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving problems as needed.

Ability to assimilate complex information and data from various sources and adjust or modify to meet specific needs.

Must be proficient in listening, understanding, and clarifying issues raised by colleagues and guests.

Ability to work with and comprehend financial information and basic arithmetic functions is necessary.

Must be able to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities:
Approach all interactions with guests and team members in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.


Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards as required by scheduling, which may vary based on hotel needs.


Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag while on duty (as per brand standards).

Adhere to company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.

Train and supervise the maintenance engineering team and coordinate all scheduling activities.

Provide guidance to the Engineering department as requested by the General Manager and/or Property Chief Engineer.

Ensure that all Engineering personnel effectively fulfill their job responsibilities.

Follow all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.

Report emergencies and unusual situations immediately.

Address guest room maintenance requests promptly.

Exhibit a cooperative and helpful attitude at all times.

Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.

Employees must consistently be friendly, courteous, and helpful to guests, colleagues, and management.


Change light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, including vinyl repairs, touch-up painting, minor furniture repairs, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.


Conduct preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting rooms, swimming pools, and hot tubs.


Perform plumbing repairs, laundry equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply systems; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as requested.


Respond immediately to any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; assess emergency status and report findings to the Front Desk.

Identify and assist in eliminating safety concerns.

Support the maintenance of health code requirements for pools and spas as applicable.


Conduct periodic property tours of gardens and exterior areas for debris and trash removal; check lighting and irrigation systems regularly.

Complete all necessary Engineering documentation.

Assist with the setup of special meeting requirements.

Complete assigned maintenance request forms daily.

Utilize proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other staff members.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
