Job Overview and Responsibilities

This role is situated within the Department of Rehabilitation.

Under the general oversight of the Team Manager, the Office Technician (General) autonomously delivers technical and administrative assistance to the Team Manager and the VRSD team by executing specialized tasks pertinent to the vocational rehabilitation services delivery process. This is in alignment with the federal regulations, California Code of Regulations concerning the VR program, and the department's Rehabilitation Administrative Manual Sections 12 and 30, as well as state procurement mandates. The Remote Services Unit is tasked with the provision of Federal Title I Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program. These services support eligible individuals in reaching their employment aspirations by offering training, assistive technology, supported employment, and job placement assistance. The district personnel will also perform eligibility assessments for service applicants and manage post-employment services for individuals who secure employment through DOR services. The Office Technician (General) will be expected to deliver services to consumers of the Department of Rehabilitation in a hybrid format, which includes providing direct services both remotely and in person. The individuals served by this Office Technician (General) may be situated throughout the state. The unit will also be accountable for offering consumer support beyond standard DOR office hours, including weekends. The Office Technician (General) may operate under a flexible schedule, and some travel may be necessary for this position.
