Veterinary Assistant at Ridge Lake Animal Hospital

Ridge Lake Animal Hospital is seeking a committed and meticulous veterinary assistant to enhance our practice. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care for animals of all varieties.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary role of the veterinary assistant (VA) is to support veterinarians in diagnosing and treating animals while also providing clients with vital information regarding their pets' health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to legal regulations and hospital protocols
  • Deliver compassionate care to both patients and their owners
  • Assist in medical, surgical, and dental interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Execute emergency procedures when required
  • Conduct physical examinations and maintain accurate records
  • Perform clinical laboratory tasks and radiographic imaging
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges under veterinarian supervision
  • Clarify vaccination schedules to clients
  • Prepare cost estimates and maintain cleanliness in examination rooms
  • Ensure the facility remains clean and organized
  • Support fellow team members as necessary

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other relevant software applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position necessitates the ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting weights up to 50 pounds and possessing good hand-eye coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is situated in a professional office atmosphere with exposure to animals and standard office equipment. Employees may experience moderate noise levels and potential physical risks associated with animal handling.
