About the Position

The InsideHigherEd team is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Faculty Librarian to join our team. As a Faculty Librarian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality reference, research, and instructional services to our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert reference and research services to faculty and students, including instruction on legal research methods and tools.
  • Teach courses in legal research and related topics, including the development of research guides and online tutorials.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of library services and programs, including collection development and assessment.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the academic mission of the institution.
  • Stay current with developments in library and information science, including emerging technologies and trends.

Requirements

  • MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • JD (or equivalent) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Experience working in a law library or similar setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience, particularly in the area of legal research.
  • Experience with library software and systems, including integrated library systems and online databases.
