Job Overview

Position Summary:
As a vital member of Rebuilding Together, the Community Restoration Leader plays a crucial role in enhancing the living conditions of individuals in need. This position is dedicated to executing hands-on repairs and leading volunteer efforts to address housing challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform direct hands-on repairs, including but not limited to carpentry, tiling, grab bar installations, and weatherization tasks.
  • Coordinate with skilled tradespeople and volunteers to ensure high-quality workmanship is completed within project timelines.
  • Assist in the procurement and delivery of essential project materials, tools, and safety equipment, while maintaining an organized workspace.
  • Conduct home assessments with clients to determine necessary repairs and collaborate with team members to create a detailed project timeline.
  • Supervise and guide volunteers during repair activities, ensuring they are well-trained, equipped, and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Encourage volunteers to develop new skills and educate homeowners about completed repairs and ongoing maintenance.
  • Facilitate on-site volunteer orientations, covering safety protocols, project scope, and community history.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse community and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong public speaking skills, with experience in training or teaching preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships with volunteers and clients.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants.

Preferred:

  • Experience in construction, home repair, or related fields.
  • Background in managing or coordinating volunteer efforts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in a related field.

Benefits:

Members receive a living allowance based on their service commitment:

  • Full-time (40 hours/week) - $23,500 per term
  • Part-time (20 hours/week) - $12,441 per term
  • Quarter-time (12 hours/week) - $6,221 per term
