Pharmacy Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Operations Manager to join our team at Medstar. As a key member of our pharmacy leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our retail pharmacy locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations of multiple pharmacies, focusing on associate engagement, patient experience, and volume growth.
  • Ensure the optimum performance of assigned Medstar Pharmacy teams through effective hiring, coaching, mentoring, and managing.
  • Work in coordination with the Management Team to achieve companywide resource efficiencies, alignment of priorities, and achievement of established goals.
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines in patient care, administration, human resources, and billing.
  • Oversee regulations associated with the Board of Pharmacy, Department of Health, HIPAA, OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, and all other state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Determine cost-effective equipment, supply, and service alternatives, coordinate with the hospitals for consistency of vendors, obtain quotes, and make recommendations for purchases as needed.
  • Promote high levels of associate engagement through associate recognition programs, fostering a strong sense of team, encouraging wellness activities, and investing in associate development.
  • Establish and communicate the site staffing schedule with adequate advance notice for employees.
  • Provide oversight of daily pharmacy operations, direct workflow patterns, ensure daily responsibilities are carried out by assigned staff, monitor, and manage productivity, maintain appropriate and adequate inventory, and resolve issues requiring management intervention.
  • Responsible for the selection, onboarding, training, supervision, and integration with the team for new associates, ensuring successful completion of 90-day probationary periods.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5-7 years management experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • 2 years of multi-site management experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and independent judgment skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
  • Advanced computer skills and supervisor experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Compensation

This position has a hiring range of $80,995 - $144,102.
