Position Overview:

The University of Rochester's Department of Psychiatry is seeking applications for a board certified psychiatrist dedicated to advancing their career within a dynamic academic medical institution. We are particularly interested in candidates for our Geriatric Outpatient clinics, focusing on the diagnosis and management of mental health disorders prevalent in older adults. These conditions may encompass dementia, depression, anxiety, late-life addiction disorders, and schizophrenia.

Role Details:

This full-time role at the University of Rochester Medical Center includes an academic faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with the candidate's experience and achievements, alongside a medical staff appointment at Strong Memorial Hospital. The position offers extensive opportunities for professional development within a supportive mentorship framework. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising psychiatric residents, fellows, medical students, and other trainees, as well as providing clinical leadership in process enhancement, program innovation, and strategic planning.

Our department is a significant provider of outpatient services, with over 30,000 visits annually, serving a diverse community in Western New York. The collaborative environment includes an interdisciplinary team comprising psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, family therapists, and licensed mental health professionals. We also incorporate telepsychiatry services, nursing home consultations, and utilize Project ECHO to collaborate with skilled nursing facilities and state psychiatric centers.

Compensation:

Salary ranges for the position are as follows:

  • Sr. Instructor: $209,000 - $247,200
  • Assistant Professor: $217,143 - $270,540
  • Associate Professor: $234,286 - $298,802
  • Professor: $257,143 - $360,701

Qualifications:

Applicants must be board certified psychiatrists with specialized training in Geriatric Psychiatry and must hold a valid license in New York State.
