Primary Objective:

Deliver technical assistance for research and development through rigorous testing and product assessment. The Mechanical Testing Specialist is tasked with the preparation, execution, and documentation of essential characteristics of various engine and electrically powered products. Testing and documentation are crucial elements of the product development lifecycle. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be available.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, execute, and oversee testing of small engines.
  • Manage performance and durability testing of products.
  • Coordinate the utilization of diverse testing apparatus.
  • Conduct product assessments to ensure adherence to product specifications.
  • Collect and document all testing data and provide reports on outcomes.
  • Assess and maintain testing equipment, water systems, and laboratory supplies.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Analyze rejected engines to identify failure causes and ascertain if the root cause constitutes a warranty issue.
  • For warranty matters, document failures and manage paperwork for returning engines to authorized warranty centers, as well as receiving them back into inventory or obtaining credit when applicable.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Capability to operate both simple and complex testing equipment.
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude with small engines.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including technical drawings.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic computer proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing applications preferred.
  • Proficient user skills with Microsoft software and file management.

Preferred:

  • Any background in electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Education/Certification:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED.
