Role Overview: The Senior Project Manager will oversee significant capital improvement initiatives with a total investment of up to $40 million. This role encompasses full accountability for project lifecycle management, from defining project scope and justification to design, construction, and operational startup. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining project scope and justification
  • Creating execution plans utilizing both internal and external resources
  • Leading teams to develop technical and equipment specifications
  • Maintaining and controlling project schedules and budgets
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure best practices in design
  • Managing construction activities and subcontractor oversight
  • Establishing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
  • Executing project close-out procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental and governmental regulations
  • Facilitating effective communication across Manufacturing, Leadership, and Procurement teams
  • Adhering to all company policies and safety protocols
  • Tracking project costs using SAP Project Systems
  • Providing regular status and financial reports throughout the project
  • Ensuring fair procurement processes and managing purchase requisitions
  • Monitoring supplier compliance with specifications and schedules
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • PMP Certification is mandatory
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a heavy industry manufacturing setting
  • At least 10 years of experience in project management
  • 7-10 years of experience supervising engineering and construction contractors
  • Preferred supervisory experience of 2-3 years
