About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Costa Mesa, CA. As a key member of our US Mine Waste Team, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging mining, heavy civil, and geotechnical projects.

Your Impact

As a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Working on civil and geotechnical engineering projects for the mining industry, with opportunities to work on projects in other industries
  • Performing engineering tasks such as site and material characterization, facility design, slope stability analysis, and surface water management facility design
  • Preparing technical reports and assisting with the preparation of project design packages
  • Performing domestic and international field assignments, such as geotechnical investigations and construction monitoring
  • Working with cross-functional teams to execute project work
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent field of study
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to complete the exam within 6 months of start date
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to complete engineering calculations and analyses
  • Ability to work both independently and on teams
  • Comfortable working in remote settings
  • Participating in and promoting a safety-first culture
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • A Master's degree in engineering
  • Essential professional licensure/certification
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120)
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training
