Role Summary

The MEP Superintendent is pivotal in overseeing the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems within our construction projects. This role entails directing subcontractors and trade labor, ensuring that all work aligns with safety standards, project timelines, quality expectations, and budget constraints. The MEP Superintendent collaborates closely with the Lead Superintendent, Finish Superintendents, and the Project Management team to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee scheduling, logistics, quality control, and staffing for trade employees.
  • Facilitate coordination among various trades to ensure smooth project operations and resolve any local issues that arise.
  • Implement and manage site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Mentor and develop Finish and Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns as necessary.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and compliance throughout all project phases.
  • Create and manage project schedules, including recovery strategies to adhere to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality installation of MEP systems in accordance with design specifications.
  • Engage with owners and architects to address field-related issues and provide resolutions.
  • Assist in the billing process, including tracking work completed and managing invoices.
  • Ensure all work complies with approved contract documents and specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineers on the integration of mechanical and electrical systems across all trades.
  • Lead project inspections, startup processes, and final handover of systems.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to plans and codes.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team on any project changes.
  • Document daily progress of MEP trade contractors using project management software.
  • Participate in preconstruction activities, focusing on logistics and constructability.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience in construction management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and listening skills.
  • Familiarity with various project delivery methods and unit turnover processes.
