Advanced Reproductive Specialist

Position Overview:
This role is designed for a seasoned and fully qualified embryologist possessing extensive expertise in assisted reproductive technologies. The candidate should be adept in performing a comprehensive range of embryology procedures, including oocyte grading, semen preparation, pronuclear and embryo evaluations, embryo transfers, cryopreservation techniques, and advanced micromanipulation methods such as ICSI and blastocyst biopsies for genetic screening.
Work Schedule:
This position offers flexibility with a rotating weekend on-call requirement. Candidates must be prepared to work variable hours based on case schedules, including the ability to commit to 21 consecutive days of work when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute ART techniques as needed, which encompass:
- Human oocyte micromanipulation
- Assisted hatching
- Embryo transfer
- Retrieval and denuding of human oocytes
- Assessing fertilization status of embryos
- Vitrification and thawing of embryos and oocytes
- Insemination of oocytes and sperm preparation
- Strong skills in tissue banking and related knowledge.
2. Conduct advanced micromanipulation procedures (ICSI, embryo biopsy).
3. Oversee and manage patient interactions within the laboratory setting.
4. Maintain meticulous documentation and records for all laboratory activities.
5. Perform daily and weekly quality control assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards and protocols.
6. Maintain laboratory equipment, demonstrating a thorough understanding of operational procedures and troubleshooting during malfunctions.
7. Prepare media for laboratory applications and manage inventory of laboratory supplies.
8. Provide training and supervision to laboratory staff as required.
9. Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for the Andrology Service, including semen analysis and IUI preparations.
10. Accurately document procedure charges in the EMR and maintain program statistics as mandated by regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a related discipline.
- Master's degree in Embryology or a comparable biological science; PhD is preferred.
- Certification in embryology and andrology (ABB).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory performing over 250 cycles annually.
Compensation:
The listed compensation range is for base salary only and is adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. This range does not include variable compensation or additional productivity incentives, which are discussed during the recruitment process.
