Job Title: Medical Assistant

ThedaCare is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receives and executes orders from physicians and advanced practice clinicians.
  • Rooms patients, obtains and documents vital signs, and prepares patients for examination.
  • Provides documentation support for complex documentation in electronic health records.
  • Assists in meeting the care needs of patients in collaboration with the care team.
  • Reinforces patient education to improve care outcomes and safe patient practices.
Qualifications:
  • Valid certification or registration through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologist (AMT) or National Healthcare Association (NHA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or a valid State of Wisconsin Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time. Transporting patients and/or equipment from one location to another; little likelihood for injury if proper body mechanics and procedures are followed. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents. Occasional contact with aggressive and/or combative patients.

Position requires compliance with department specific competencies. Schedule 7am-5:50 pm Tuesday and Wednesday. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20. FTE: 0.5. Location: ThedaCare Medical Center - Berlin - Berlin, Wisconsin. Overtime Exempt: No.
