Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering pertinent health information.
  • Monitor and complete clinical integration and quality improvement measures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures and exams.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders or medical group-approved standing orders.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or Medical Assistant certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced training in practical nursing or medical assisting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
