Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at American Family Care, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to work directly with a licensed provider and contribute to the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved procedure
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with approved procedure
  • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
Qualifications

AMT-registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are required. Two years of experience is preferred.
