Job Overview

Summary: The Commercial Loan Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in managing the loan accounting processes for the bank's diverse portfolio. This position involves meticulous examination of loan documentation, accurate entry of loans into the bank's core system, and thorough reconciliation with the general ledger. The analyst will also conduct transaction research, address discrepancies, and ensure the integrity of daily file maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish customer profiles and accurately record commercial and consumer loans, including associated guarantors and fees, in alignment with loan agreements and internal protocols.
  • Conduct detailed research on loan account transactions, ensuring quality control and resolving any discrepancies that arise.
  • Review daily maintenance reports and implement necessary corrections to uphold data accuracy.
  • Reconcile and investigate loan-related general ledger accounts to ensure financial integrity.
  • Process funding requests in compliance with loan agreements, ensuring all due diligence is performed to verify funding availability.
  • Manage investor reporting, remittances, and month-end reconciliations for participated loans.
  • Manually post payments when required, ensuring accuracy in the loan system.
  • Verify loan and credit portfolio codes for each approved loan to guarantee correct data entry.
  • Digitally scan and index loan documents related to maintenance requests into the bank's imaging system.
  • Escalate significant issues to management and relevant personnel as necessary.
  • Support compliance with loan policies, regulatory standards, and established risk management procedures.

Additional Responsibilities: Depending on management directives, the following tasks may also be assigned:

  • Perform quality control assessments of data input into the loan system, ensuring alignment with loan agreements and documenting any errors for management review.
  • Set up exceptions in the collateral tracking system and verify that received documents meet the necessary requirements.
  • Assist with SBA 1502 Reporting and monitor flood reports, ensuring insurance is enforced as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance, with some experience in loan operations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in loan operations.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation.
  • Familiarity with related departments within loan operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills.
