Position Overview:
Allina Health, a prominent not-for-profit healthcare organization, operates a comprehensive network of clinics and hospitals across the Twin Cities region. Our Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Service Line provides an extensive range of services, including emergency and inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and specialized addiction treatment.
Role Summary:
As an Emergency Psychiatrist, your primary responsibility will be to provide critical care and ensure the safety of individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote support to Allina Health's emergency departments, with the flexibility to work from home and visit specific sites as necessary.
- Conduct daily assessments to prioritize patient care needs.
- Engage in weekly consultations with peers.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Mental Health Crisis Clinicians and emergency department staff.
- Choose between 8-hour or 10-hour shifts, with no on-call duties required.
- Commit to working one weekend per month.

Qualifications:
- MD, DO, or equivalent international training required.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified status with ABMS or AOA.
- Possession of an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Capability to secure and maintain DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Meet credentialing criteria for hospital privileges, if applicable.
Physical Requirements:
Medium Work: Lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently, in accordance with safe patient handling policies.
