Job Summary

Allina Health is a leading healthcare organization in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. We are seeking a skilled Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our team at our Unity Mental Health Outpatient Clinic.

Key Position Details

As a Geriatric Psychiatrist at Allina Health, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality care to seniors. You will work closely with primary care providers, psychologists, nurses, and social work services to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of older adults.

Our Geriatric Mental Health program is designed to provide comprehensive care to seniors, including eConsults, education, outpatient therapeutic and psychiatric interventions, and inpatient therapy. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of specialists, including neuropsychology and neuroradiology, to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with providers to assist with ongoing management of the behavioral health needs of patients.
  • Engage patients and families to develop treatment plans that address identified goals.
  • Develop and lead staff education in psychiatric issues.
  • May participate in on-call rotation.
Requirements
  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
  • Geriatric fellowship is strongly preferred.
  • BE/BC with ABMS or AOA required.
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable.
