Job Title: Quality Supervisor

Join our team at Precision Castparts Corp., a leading manufacturer of complex structural investment castings, airfoil castings, forged components, aerostructures, and highly engineered fasteners for aerospace applications. We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Supervisor to oversee our quality assurance teams and ensure the production of high-quality products.

Job Summary:

The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance teams to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect complex machine parts and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Interpret quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs for key personnel.
  • Partner with Operations Teams to deliver quality-related training to identified teams.
  • Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Decide whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor based on a review by the quality assurance engineer.
  • Review all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team.
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities, including performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Play an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
