The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an authorized SkillBridge Program under the Department of Defense Instruction, providing transitioning service members with valuable civilian work experience through personalized internships.

Key Responsibilities for this internship position include:

  • Acting as a conduit for high-energy, motivated military candidates into Northrop Grumman.
  • Delivering fellowship-style job skills training to transitioning service members during their final military commitments.
  • Maintaining a work schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have served a minimum of 180 days on active duty
  • Must be within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Must receive an honorable discharge
  • Must have participated in any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Must have attended or participated in an ethics briefing within the last 12 months
  • Must have received written authorization from the Unit Commander to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to starting the internship.

Responsibilities may encompass:

  • Designing, developing, and testing radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, subsystems, circuits, or products.
  • Utilizing technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques on a regular basis.
  • Providing solutions to a variety of technical challenges of increasing scope and complexity as assigned.

This position can be filled at level 2 or level 3 based on the basic qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for RF Microwave Design Engineer:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs).
  • Proficiency in using RF test equipment and MATLAB.
  • ACTIVE TS Clearance required at the time of application.

Basic Qualifications for Principal RF Microwave Design Engineer:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • ACTIVE TS Clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with modeling tools such as STK and HFSS

Salary Range: $83,300 - $124,900

Salary Range 2: $102,400 - $153,600
