Commercial Real Estate Financing Relationship Executive

Job Overview:
As a pivotal member of the transaction execution team, the Commercial Real Estate Financing Relationship Executive is responsible for delivering tailored financial solutions to sophisticated commercial property borrowers.
This role represents the financial institution across the region, aligning with the clients' aspirations to be recognized as the premier financial partner and a leading business entity in all markets.
The primary focus will be on steering sales and business development initiatives within the region, emphasizing loan growth, deposit expansion, non-interest income enhancement, and cross-functional referrals to meet the company's overarching business objectives.
Accountability extends to the overall profitability of all markets within the region, which includes managing pricing strategies, net interest margin, optimizing non-interest income, and ensuring operational efficiency within the defined corporate targets.
The role is crucial in embodying the bank's culture of responsibility throughout the region, emphasizing effective communication, employee recognition, engagement, teamwork, consistent performance management, and the ongoing professional development of associates.
Meeting or exceeding annual goals aligned with the strategic plan is essential, as is achieving budgeted metrics such as ROE and ROA while minimizing turnover of key senior team members.
Exemplifying the aspirational standard for exceptional customer experience, as outlined in the bank's long-term strategic vision, is vital. This includes taking ownership of customer experience recovery related to service complaints within the region.
The executive will be responsible for fostering high engagement levels among members of Local Advisory Boards, acting as ambassadors for the bank within the community. This may involve serving as the designated chair for local advisory boards and collaborating with regional employees to ensure advisory board member performance aligns with expectations for community influence and business referrals.
Participation in strategic planning activities and ownership of relevant strategic execution priorities is expected. Leading by example in accordance with the company's Servant Leadership philosophy is crucial, ensuring that both internal and external customers receive exemplary service.
Compliance with financial institution regulations is mandatory, and the executive may be tasked with additional duties as required by business needs.
Staying informed on trends and business conditions in the banking sector and market areas is essential, as is remaining current on changes in legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technological environments that may impact bank operations.
This executive may also be assigned special projects by the President or CEO, which could include analyzing property cash flow statements, business operating statements, tax returns, and financial statements. A comprehensive understanding of cash flow reports, financial ratios, and trends is required.
Identifying both recurring and non-recurring cash flow sources, assessing the property's ability to cover debt service, and evaluating the client's capacity to support the property are key responsibilities.
Knowledge of IRS Code Sections 42 and 47, equity structures, market research (including onsite inspections and comparative market analysis), and third-party guidelines is essential. The executive will underwrite real estate credits and prepare credit memos for new loans, renewals, modifications, and short-term extensions.
This includes conducting financial and risk analysis, understanding the purpose of loans, repayment sources, collateral, financial and reporting covenants, tenant analysis, and summarizing the sponsor and project team.
Understanding and reviewing real estate documents (leases, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) to identify potential issues and concerns is also a critical function.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & CAPACITIES Commercial Real Estate Financing Relationship Executive Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related fields.
Adequate work experience is necessary.Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas:
Commercial lending credit training and experience in corporate loan underwriting and portfolio management. Other relevant transaction experience. A strong entrepreneurial spirit and a drive for deal-making. Proficient financial analysis, research, and business due diligence skills. Excellent interpersonal abilities. Familiarity with finance and accounting principles, corporate finance concepts, and methodologies. Self-motivated with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals. Strong analytical and written communication skills. Proficient in financial modeling.
Experience in utilizing tools and techniques for gathering, collating, and analyzing information on existing or potential markets to meet market demands.
Expertise in decision-making processes, with the ability to negotiate and finalize transactions for real properties.
Knowledge of tools and practices for assessing the creditworthiness of applicants.Expertise in underwriting activities, practices, tools, and considerations, with the ability to manage the underwriting process effectively.
Knowledge of real estate development, including business development methods and operational processes.
Understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company-specific regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting business practices.
Familiarity with specializations, tools, practices, and regulations within the real estate sector, with the ability to operate a real estate enterprise successfully.
Must possess the ability to employ diverse data analysis processes, techniques, and tools to analyze, interpret, and manage property-related data.
