Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Pratum Companies. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records for a large portfolio of multi-family properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial information for assigned entities.
  • Accounting Transactions: Perform monthly accounting transactions review for assigned entities, including bank statement downloads, income and expense filing, and regulatory filings.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other accounting and operations managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Communication: Respond to inquiries from ownership groups, regulatory agencies, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Year-End Audit: Assist with the year-end audit process.
Requirements
  • Education: BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting is desired, CPA is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: 2+ years experience in the accounting field, particularly with financial reporting/general ledger. Experience working in multi-family real estate, specifically affordable housing, is preferred. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required. Strong English spoken/verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required.
