Warehouse Material Handler Job Description

At WebstaurantStore, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Material Handler to join our team. As a key member of our distribution center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check-in and put away incoming warehouse inventory in a timely and secure manner.
  • Pack orders to ensure customers receive their orders intact and in a timely fashion, while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Downsize packaging to minimize shipping costs without compromising product quality or insurance.
  • Bill and ship completed orders using our warehouse software.
  • Palletize and load finished shipments onto trailers using provided equipment.
  • Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Communicate with the warehouse shipping supervisor regarding any issues or concerns that arise.

Requirements:
  • Ability to push and pull up to 150lbs.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Constantly bend, reach, climb, and stand throughout the shift.
  • Work a full shift of up to 12 hours.
  • Follow all codes of conduct, safety parameters, productivity, and quality standards, as well as attendance policies.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

Shift Schedule:
  • Monday-Thursday from 6:00 PM to 4:30 AM.
  • Starting wage is $21.00/hr (including a $1.00/hr shift differential) and potential raises of up to $0.88 every 6 months.
