Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Systems Planning and Analysis (SPA). The successful candidate will provide scientific and project management support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Chemical and Biological Defense Department.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in electrical engineering applied to chemical and biological threat detection/identification science using passive or standoff detection methods. This includes identifying warfighter emerging technology needs, understanding capability gaps, and developing project and product strategies and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field, with 5 years of experience in science and technology program management. They will also possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools and programs.

Additionally, the candidate should have an active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and project management support to DTRA Chemical and Biological Defense Department
  • Identify warfighter emerging technology needs and understand capability gaps
  • Develop project and product strategies and goals
  • Coordinate and consolidate complex, technical, programmatic, and strategic responses
  • Assist in the review of proposals submitted through the Long-Range Broad Agency Announcements
  • Monitor funding documentation and other programmatic metrics
  • Provide programmatic, logistics planning, and execution support for meetings with government clients and their performers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in science and technology program management
  • Strong analytical skills in application and analysis of scientific principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools and programs
  • Active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with technology prototyping or automation
  • U.S. military experience, ideally with experience in chemical and biological defense
  • Knowledge of traditional and emerging chemical warfare agents
  • DAWIA Certification in Engineering and Technical Management and/or Program Management
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the PMI
