Biomedical Research Scientist Position in Cancer and Liver Disease

About the Opportunity
The University of Minnesota's The Hormel Institute is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in cell biology, liver pathobiology, and/or cancer biology to join our research team. As a Biomedical Research Scientist, you will work on multiple aspects of one or more projects at any one time, including experimental design, implementation, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of research data.
Responsibilities
- Propose, plan, and conduct laboratory-based experiments in collaboration with the PI and other lab personnel.
- Process and analyze data using advanced software tools.
- Communicate research findings and specialist knowledge to different audiences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and productive laboratory environment.
- Assist with laboratory receiving, ordering, and inventory management as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology, or a related field. Strong organization skills, written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to effectively manage research projects with little oversight from the PI are required. Experience in data analysis, molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, murine genetic models, xenotransplantation, genetic screens, cell biology, tissue culture techniques, and proficiency in animal modeling of human diseases, histopathology, computational biology, and molecular biology techniques are highly valued.
Benefits
The University of Minnesota offers a competitive salary range of $61,008 - $74,088 annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
