SENIOR IT SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

Position Overview:
The Senior IT Solutions Engineer at the Arkansas Government is a pivotal role focused on the evaluation, design, and implementation of innovative solutions to address intricate application challenges, system management issues, and network dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and define system requirements based on user needs, budget considerations, and integration with current applications and systems.
  • Establish technical standards and conduct functionality assessments for IT applications and systems.
  • Provide direct technical support to clients and oversee the acquisition and deployment of necessary resources to meet user demands.
  • Develop and enforce procedures to ensure all systems align with departmental objectives and fulfill end-user requirements.
  • Ensure the stability, interoperability, security, and scalability of system architecture.
  • Offer technical direction and support for system development and troubleshooting, while monitoring operations to identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and software developers to select suitable design solutions and ensure system component compatibility.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A formal education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, data processing, or a related discipline, along with four years of relevant experience in systems engineering or administration.
  • Alternatively, completion of technical training in computer science or a related field from a vocational, military, or industrial environment, accompanied by four years of experience in systems engineering or administration.

Skills and Expertise:

The role requires:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Understanding of system architecture concepts and design methodologies.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Proficiency in design techniques and tools used in the creation of technical plans and models.
  • Insight into business and management principles related to strategic planning and resource coordination.
  • Ability to diagnose system issues, propose solutions, and initiate necessary actions.
  • Effective communication skills for conveying project objectives and solutions to various stakeholders.
