Work Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including nights and weekend on-call duties.

Your Role:

Surgical technologists play a crucial role in the surgical team, providing essential support during surgical procedures. Under the guidance of registered nurses and surgeons, they ensure a safe and efficient surgical environment, maintaining the highest standards of patient safety. Their expertise encompasses aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and the use of medical instruments and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures, demonstrating an understanding of the surgery and anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Prepare for surgeries by gathering and verifying the necessary supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are functional and accessible.
  • Uphold strict aseptic protocols, monitoring all team members to prevent any breaches in sterile technique.
  • Conduct instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulating nurse in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a surgical technology program, LPN or RN program, military training in surgical technology, or equivalent on-the-job training with 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instruments.
