About the Role Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to provide psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning and implementing milieu treatment approaches, providing individual counseling and group therapy sessions, and assessing and evaluating patient mental status.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Charge Nurse to plan and implement milieu treatment approaches for patients.
Provide individual counseling and group therapy sessions to patients, focusing on treatment goals and therapeutic relationships.
Assess and evaluate patient mental status, initiating and maintaining therapeutic relationships.
Participate in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, sharing information and participating in treatment plan formulation.
Coordinate and implement various aspects of the milieu environment to provide a therapeutic experience for patients.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in psychology or a related field preferred.
Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
BLS required.

Working Conditions

As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work in a patient care environment with occasional risk from combative or abusive patients. You may also assist with moving or lifting elderly or handicapped patients or with applying restraints. Regular walking and standing are required during normal course of duties.
