Unit Job Overview

Objective: The Educational Program Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the educational experiences of members at Boys & Girls Clubs. This role focuses on implementing a structured program that includes academic support, informal tutoring, and skill-building activities. The Coordinator will engage directly with both individual members and groups, while also overseeing and guiding volunteers involved in the program.

Schedule: This position operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Compensation begins at $15.21 per hour, with potential increases based on relevant experience. A Bachelor's Degree or progress towards one is required for eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Program-Related Duties:
  1. Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of academic support volunteers.
  2. Maintain detailed records of participant progress.
  3. Gather educational resources and materials as needed.
  4. Oversee recognition initiatives for both members and volunteers.
  5. Promote the educational program among members.
  6. Supervise the activity area to ensure a safe and organized environment.
  7. Incorporate technology effectively to enhance the program.
  8. Track attendance using the designated system.
  9. Prepare and submit reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  10. Ensure activities and materials are suitable for various ages and reflect the diverse backgrounds of Club members.
Non-Program Related Duties:
  1. Maintain visually appealing and current bulletin boards.
  2. Ensure equipment is in good condition and perform minor repairs as necessary.
  3. Keep the activity area clean and organized at the conclusion of the program.
  4. Assist in supervising common areas adjacent to the program activities.
  5. Encourage reading by providing an engaging display of reading materials.
