Job Title: Program Director

The Program Director is a key member of our team, responsible for managing overall Club programming and ensuring the training and programming is disseminated to all program staff. This role assumes responsibilities of the Club Director in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Club Director with club plans and develop programs assigned to ensure compliance with Boys and Girls Clubs policies.
  • Develop and manage programs to meet standards of Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
  • Coordinate program planning efforts of all departmental instructors and receive requisitions and procure supplies necessary for program implementation.
  • Monitor membership/registration processes and prepare weekly, monthly, and annual membership reports.
  • Assure communication with members whose cards have expired and maintain employee time sheets for submission to the Administrative office.
  • Plan and coordinate building displays and bulletin boards, as well as special events and field trips.
  • Periodically drive the BGCT minibus when needed and count monies and verify with daily cash reports.
  • Coordinate internal promotion of Club activities and maintain accurate records of member recognition systems.
  • Assume miscellaneous building maintenance duties, including minor repairs.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of five years' work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents, and community leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet usage.
  • Ability to interview, hire, train, supervise, and motivate staff, as well as deal effectively with members, including discipline problems.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management, and ability to relate effectively with parents and community.
  • Ability to prepare weekly reports as required and have a valid Ohio or Michigan driver's license and be insurable.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with hours typically Monday through Friday, including some evenings and weekends.
