Our center offers a wide range of ambulatory services, including Day Surgery, Primary Care, Medical and Surgical specialties, as well as comprehensive ancillary services: Pharmacy, Clinical Laboratory Services, Phlebotomy, and a wide range of Diagnostic Imaging services.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Practice Assistant/Patient Services Coord to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing encounters and interactions with patients of all ages, ensuring a smooth and efficient visit experience. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage patient encounters and interactions, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  2. Accurately input registration and fiscal database information, including full registration as needed.
  3. Operate computer terminal and be proficient in multiple practice management systems.
  4. Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely fashion, adhering to organizational and departmental service standards.
  5. Manage radiology prior authorization process and requirements, utilizing radiology order entry system to schedule necessary tests.
  6. Assist with maintaining space and supply levels, performing daily start-up and shut-down functions.
  7. Collect co-payments, cash receipts, and referrals, performing daily reconciliation.
  8. Monitor waiting room and patient flow processes, ensuring patients are served efficiently and communication around wait times is consistently available.
  9. Complete follow-up on past day's patient visits, reviewing lists and obtaining necessary forms, referrals, and authorizations.
  10. Perform check-out functions, including scheduling follow-up visits and providing necessary documentation.
  11. Assist with patient transport within the facility, as needed.
  12. Support administrative and clinical staff as needed.
Requirements

We require a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of one year of applicable work experience. Additional training in office systems is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a hospital-based ambulatory practice, with normal patient environments where there are some exposures to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, needles, and blood products.
