Internal Communications Manager

Charter Schools USA is seeking a highly skilled Internal Communications Manager to join our team in Fort Lauderdale. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing internal communications plans that drive employee engagement and alignment with our Mission, Values, and Promise (MVP) initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communications Planning and Implementation: Lead the creation and execution of innovative internal communications plans that resonate with our organizational culture and drive employee engagement.
  • Collaboration and Material Development: Work closely with senior management and HR to develop and standardize internal communication materials, including videos, brochures, and promotional items.
  • Communications Management: Oversee key communication initiatives and maintain a comprehensive annual communications calendar.
  • Content Creation and Distribution: Coordinate and publish engaging company-wide newsletters, interviews, and updates.
  • Support for Managerial Communications: Equip managers with effective tools and templates to ensure clear, consistent messaging within their teams.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and executing all-hands meetings, including logistics and executive presentations.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Coordinate small, cross-functional project teams including creative, digital assets, social media, and production.
  • Engagement and Channel Optimization: Identify and evaluate effective communication and engagement opportunities within the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Verified history of implementing communications plans and following through on the delivery of those respective plans.
  • Ability to take initiative and be hands-on with all aspects of preparations and logistics.
  • Comfort and competence in interacting with C-level executives.
  • Superb writing skills - able to write concisely and interestingly in perfect standard English, on demand and with tight turnarounds.
  • Proven experience in managing internal communications within a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and content management systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to collaborate with any manager on communications.
  • Ability to strategize and execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Work Environment:

While performing the responsibilities of this position, the work environment characteristics listed below are representative of the environment the employee will encounter:

  • Usual office working hours.
Physical Demands:

No physical exertion required.

Travel within or outside of state.

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

Terms of Employment:

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
