Position Overview

The role involves conducting field service repairs on agricultural machinery within the designated South Central Illinois region. This includes various counties such as Macon, Christian, Logan, and Sangamon .

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute field service and repair tasks primarily on Terragators, Rogators, Claas Lexion combines, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Challenger Tractors, along with other CAT Ag products.
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and other system issues.
  • Build and maintain service-oriented relationships with clients.
  • Utilize computers and parts catalogs to identify necessary components.
  • Complete service documentation and related paperwork before and after repairs.
  • Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred completion of a formal technical training program or equivalent experience in agricultural machinery.
  • Proficient in electrical and hydraulic diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite and CAT Programs.
  • Ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure high-quality service by maintaining the appearance of customer equipment and addressing all maintenance concerns.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • Must reside within the designated territory or be willing to relocate.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory, including no more than two minor violations in the past three years and no major violations in the past five years.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position requires spending significant time outdoors in agricultural settings, exposed to various weather conditions, dust, dirt, and vegetation, which may trigger allergies. The role may also involve working in an office environment and traveling to client locations. Physical activities include walking, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs. The technician must be capable of climbing and operating machinery and various types of agricultural equipment. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to high. Additionally, the technician may need to sit at a desk for extended periods to handle phone calls or complete documentation via a keyboard.
