Powersports Technician – Walker First Turn

Our extensive inventory includes ATVs, RTVs, motorcycles, and both residential and commercial mowers, catering to all your powersports and agricultural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome every service customer with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ensure prompt acknowledgment of service customers upon their arrival.
  • Utilize prescribed service tools to enhance customer satisfaction and boost service sales.
  • Present service menus to each customer effectively.
  • Identify customer repair needs through open-ended inquiries and document repair orders accordingly.
  • Inspect each vehicle for any outstanding recalls upon arrival.
  • Keep customers informed about the status and completion of their repairs.
  • Prepare and manage all daily repair orders.
  • Occasionally liaise with extended warranty companies for repair approvals.
  • Conduct 'active delivery' of completed repairs, educating customers on the services performed and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Calculate estimates for non-warranty and extended warranty repairs.
  • Handle numerous telephone inquiries daily, converting them into appointments when possible.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and courteously.
  • Offer shuttle services to customers for convenience.
  • Transport vehicles from the bullpen to the service area for customer pickup.
  • Schedule and oversee the progress of any sublet repairs as necessary.
  • Conduct vehicle history research and follow up on automated phone system callbacks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of experience in a powersports repair environment.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professional appearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a powersports technician, with knowledge of lawnmowers and tractors (including diesel engines).
  • Familiarity with various powersports products and small engine repair.
  • Understanding of two-stroke and four-stroke engine operation and components.
  • Ability to learn and utilize computer software effectively.
  • Capability to adhere to established policies and procedures set by management.
  • A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift weights between 30 lbs. and 50 lbs.
  • Ability to inspect vehicles to assess repair needs.
  • Good vision for inspecting repair work.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.
  • Competence in safely operating powersports vehicles.
