Medical Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clinical team at Penn State Health Andrews Patel - Hematology Oncology Services Harrisburg office.

The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-tasking, working in a fast-paced office, and handling an average of 80 patients per day. They will be responsible for completing an array of duties, including room patients, medication reconciliation, and vital measurements/recordings.

This position also includes administrative tasks such as chart-prep, consistent patient communication in follow-up and addressed inquiries, as well as working on various reports.

The successful candidate will demonstrate consistency and punctuality in each shift completed, as well as have/demonstrate compassion and patience.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date or current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred
