Heavy Equipment Operator

**Job Summary:**
The City of Dover is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Utilities team. This is a full-time position responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy motor equipment used in public works construction and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned heavy equipment in support of water & sewer utilities construction or maintenance activities, including excavation work, loading/unloading materials, and road repair and maintenance.
- May aid Highway Department with operation of street sweepers or roadside mowing equipment.
- Service equipment and make minor field repairs; report need for major repair to supervisor and mechanics.
- Direct the work of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers involved in routine maintenance and construction activities.
- Operate vehicles in compliance with all laws, ordinances, policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
- Maintain valid New Hampshire CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement and Tanker Endorsement, CDL-A with endorsements preferred.
- Certification for NE Collection Systems Operator Certificate Grade II and State of NH Water Distribution Certification Grade II.
