The Senior Admissions Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Admissions (DOA) in managing the admissions team as per the directives of the DOA. This position is crucial in ensuring that the admissions team comprehends and adheres to all requirements set forth by accrediting institutions while facilitating the student enrollment process. The Admissions Department serves as the initial point of contact for prospective students, and the quality of interaction established here significantly influences their decision to enroll in a program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator is tasked with aiding the admissions team in attracting and enrolling qualified candidates for their campus. This is achieved by supervising the admissions process and guiding the admissions team under the DOA's leadership in the following areas:
- Engaging and evaluating prospective students
- Maintaining a robust candidate pipeline
- Facilitating the enrollment of qualified students
- Enhancing the student population
- Admissions Coordinators
- Receptionists
Prospecting and Inquiry Management:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Admissions team in generating a consistent flow of candidate inquiries and distributing them to the Admissions Coordinators. This includes:
- Ensuring equitable distribution of inquiries among Admissions Coordinators
The Senior Admissions Coordinator aids the DOA in overseeing the admissions process to ensure a steady influx of new student enrollments. Responsibilities may include:
- Reviewing daily activity reports including calls made, appointments set, and enrollments
- Tracking candidate statuses
- Examining student files prior to submission to the Registrar
The Senior Admissions Coordinator assists in monitoring the performance of Admissions Coordinators as directed by the DOA. In the absence of a campus DOA, this role will support the Campus President in:
- Scheduling hours for admissions staff
- Monitoring staff activities such as phone calls and candidate interviews
- Ensuring effective use of the admissions management system
- Keeping Admissions Coordinators informed about program offerings
- Conducting informal daily check-ins with each admissions coordinator
- Reviewing weekly business plans for the admissions team
- Participating in conference calls and campus meetings
The Senior Admissions Coordinator ensures a seamless transition for new students into the institution. This includes:
- Coordinating transitions to Financial Aid, Bursar, and Academic departments
- Ensuring student readiness for their programs

EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator should possess a minimum of an Associate's degree, with a preference for bilingual candidates. Experience in an academic setting, particularly within a career college, is advantageous. Relevant experience in managing staff in client services or consultative roles is also valued. Key knowledge, skills, and experience include:
