POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Admissions (DOA) in managing the admissions team as directed. This position is crucial in ensuring that the admissions team comprehends and adheres to all requirements set forth by accrediting institutions while facilitating the student enrollment journey. The Admissions Department serves as the initial point of contact for prospective students, making the quality of interaction a significant factor in their decision to enroll in programs offered.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator is tasked with aiding the admissions team in the acquisition and enrollment of qualified candidates for their campus. This involves overseeing the admissions process and guiding the admissions team under the DOA's supervision in the following areas:
  • Attracting, engaging, and evaluating prospective students
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline of candidates
  • Enrolling and onboarding qualified students
  • Enhancing the student population
SUPERVISORY ROLE:
  • Admissions Coordinators
  • Receptionists
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prospecting and Inquiry Management:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Admissions team in generating a consistent flow of candidate inquiries and distributing them effectively among Admissions Coordinators. This includes:
  • Ensuring equitable distribution of inquiries to Admissions Coordinators
Performance Monitoring:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator assists the DOA in overseeing the admissions process to ensure a steady influx of new student enrollments. Responsibilities may include:
  • Reviewing daily activity reports, including call metrics, appointments set, and enrollments
  • Tracking candidate statuses
  • Examining student files prior to submission to the Registrar
Team Performance Oversight:
Under the DOA's guidance, the Senior Admissions Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the performance of Admissions Coordinators. In the absence of a campus DOA, this role will involve:
  • Scheduling hours for admissions staff
  • Monitoring staff activities, including calls and candidate interviews
  • Ensuring effective use of the admissions management system
  • Keeping Admissions Coordinators informed about program offerings
  • Conducting informal daily check-ins with each admissions coordinator
  • Reviewing weekly business plans for Admissions Coordinators
  • Participating in conference calls and campus meetings
Coordinating the Admissions Process:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator ensures the seamless transition of new students into the institution. This includes:
  • Facilitating smooth transitions to Financial Aid, Bursar, and Academic departments
  • Ensuring student readiness for enrollment

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Senior Admissions Coordinator should possess knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to overseeing the admissions process. A minimum of an Associate's degree is required, with bilingual candidates preferred. Experience in an academic setting, particularly within a career college environment, is advantageous.
