We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AI/ML Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance, and cost-effective AI software and services for our HCM and WFM product lines at UKG.

About the Role
  • Design and develop cloud-native AI software and services that operate at large scale, with high performance, and deployed on serverless cloud.
  • Translate business requirements into architectural models that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Create prototypes to demonstrate the feasibility of designs and educate stakeholders.
  • Define, deploy, and advance processes for AI/ML development and MLOPS, including API-first principles, microservices, SDLC/MDLC, CI/CD, quality, monitoring, observability, security, extensibility, and maintainability of software and services.
  • Support and mentor a team of highly motivated engineers in design implementations, best practices for AI/ML applications.
  • Lead by example to review code, look for design breaches, provide meaningful and relevant feedback to data scientists and engineers, and stay up to date with system changes.
  • Present and acquire consensus using multiple methods, including written diagrams and text, in-person meetings, and remote presentations to both technical, semi-technical, and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in architecting and building AI and ML products or platforms in a software product development organization.
  • Designing cloud-native services in either GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • 15+ years of previous software engineering experience with proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, such as Java, Python, or Scala.
  • Variety of database technologies, including Postgres, SQL Server, Big Query, and Mongo DB.
  • Enterprise-level messaging and event streaming solutions, such as Kafka, Pub Sub, RabbitMQ, or Spark.
  • CI/CD, DevOps, and related tooling, including Gradle, Jenkins, Quark, and Maven.
  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms, such as Linear and Logistic regressions, Decision tree, Naive Bayes, KNN, K-means, and Random Forest.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data governance and management best practices.
  • Data modeling specifically for building insights and serving.
  • Experience building, optimizing, and deploying ML workflows/pipelines.
  • Experience working with Docker containers and cloud-based computing environments, including GCP, Vertex AI, Kubernetes, Composer, and Big Query.
  • Understanding of NLP algorithms, LLMs, and Generative AI.
  • Experience with Services Oriented Architecture and microservices principles.
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, information systems, or similar field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $137,900 to $192,000, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
