Job Summary:

The Medical Records Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the communications functions of the agency office and providing clerical support. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and update spreadsheets using Excel to track orders and patient files.
  • Assist with order management by comparing incoming orders with outstanding orders to ensure patient files are up-to-date.
  • Prepare orders for documentation and deliver them to physician offices as needed.
  • Scan and attach orders to patient files to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service over the phone and in person.
  • Assist with daily communications with orders management and provide support with weekly reports.
  • Promote the agency philosophy and mission by presenting a positive image to patients, families, and community agencies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Experience using Home Care Home Base.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • 1 year of general office experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to type 40 to 50 WPM.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A high school diploma is necessary.
