Position Overview:
As a seasoned expert in defense operations, your distinctive experience empowers you to envision broader horizons, challenge limits, and pose inquiries that others may overlook. Role Responsibilities:
In the capacity of a Senior Strategic Advisor for Naval Operational Planning, you will leverage your extensive background at Fleet and Combatant Commands, along with your proficiency in both Deliberate and Crisis Action planning. Collaborating with leading figures in consulting and analytics, you will engage in projects tailored for our Navy clientele. Your expertise will be instrumental in the formulation, drafting, wargaming, and oversight of contingency plans at the Operational Level of War.

Key Contributions:
Work collaboratively to assist clients in identifying deficiencies in force and capability, evaluate operational response alternatives, develop mission command directives, and ensure that plans are consistent with and support directives from higher headquarters. This role may involve travel of up to 25%.

Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in military or governmental roles, including contract support for military commands.
  • 10 years of experience with Joint or Navy staff at the Echelon III level or higher.
  • 10 years of experience in Navy or Joint Operational Planning, including the development of operational-level military strategies, encompassing Crisis Action Team or Deliberate planning.
  • 10 years of experience conducting operational analysis to pinpoint gaps in force capabilities or formulating vulnerability and gap assessments.
  • Familiarity with the Joint Planning and Execution Process, Operational Design, and the Joint Exercise Life Cycle process.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
  • A Master's degree.
  • Graduation from a Navy or Joint Advanced Planning School, including MAWS and NOPC, SAWS, SAMS, SAAS, or JAWS, Maritime Operational Planner's Course (MOPC), or Maritime Staff Operators Course (MSOC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in operational planning within a Combatant Command staff.
  • Experience managing an Operational Plans Element.
  • Experience leading Operational Planning Teams in deliberate planning.
  • Experience leading Crisis Action Planning teams.
  • JPME II or Joint Specialty Officer Designation.

Clearance Requirements:
Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
