Position Overview:
As a seasoned expert in defense operations, your extensive experience empowers you to envision broader strategies, pursue innovative solutions, and address challenges that others may overlook. Your advisory skills are crucial in tackling some of the most intricate issues faced by our clients, ultimately contributing to national security.
Role Responsibilities:
In your capacity as a Senior Strategic Advisor for Naval Operations, you will leverage your background with Fleet and Combatant Commands, as well as your proficiency in both Deliberate and Crisis Action planning. Collaborating with industry leaders in consulting and analytics, you will engage in projects that support our Navy clientele. Your expertise will be instrumental in the formulation, drafting, wargaming, and oversight of contingency plans at the Operational Level of War.
Key Contributions:
Work alongside our clients to identify gaps in forces and capabilities, evaluate operational response strategies, develop mission command directives, and ensure that plans are in alignment with directives from higher headquarters. This role may involve travel commitments of up to 25%.
Your Background:
You have served your nation as a military operational planner. Advance your career while crafting impactful solutions that matter.
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in military or governmental roles, including contract support for military commands.
- 10 years of experience within Joint or Navy staff at the Echelon III level or higher.
- 10 years of experience in Navy or Joint Operational Planning, focusing on operational-level military plans, including Crisis Action Team or Deliberate planning.
- 10 years of experience conducting operational analysis to pinpoint capability gaps or formulating vulnerability assessments.
- In-depth knowledge of the Joint Planning and Execution Process, Operational Design, and Joint Exercise Life Cycle.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
- A Master's degree.
- Graduation from a Navy or Joint Advanced Planning School, such as MAWS, NOPC, SAWS, SAMS, SAAS, JAWS, Maritime Operational Planner's Course (MOPC), or Maritime Staff Operators Course (MSOC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in operational planning on a Combatant Command staff.
- Experience managing an Operational Plans Element.
- Experience leading Operational Planning Teams in deliberate planning.
- Experience directing Crisis Action Planning teams.
- JPME II or Joint Specialty Officer designation.
Clearance Requirements:
Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
