We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Use Disorder Treatment Specialist to join our team at Brockton Neighborhood Health Center. As a Harm Reduction Clinic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will provide medical care and treatment to patients struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.

About the Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with nurse care managers, behavioral health clinicians, recovery coaches, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Your expertise in harm reduction strategies and medications for addiction treatment (MAT) will be essential in helping us achieve our goal of providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

  • Provides direct patient care for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, utilizing a harm reduction framework.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans, taking into account each patient's unique cultural background and needs.
  • Evaluates patients through comprehensive assessments, including mental status, current functioning, medication history, and treatment history.
  • Initiates MAT, including medications such as buprenorphine, naltrexone, and acamprosate, as well as other drug therapies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Licensed Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • A DEA Registration with DATA Waiver to prescribe buprenorphine.
  • Certification in Addiction Nursing (CARN or CARN-AP) is highly desirable.
