Job Description
Position Overview
As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, you will provide comprehensive medical care and treatment to patients by adhering to professional standards and established policies and procedures. You will work collaboratively with primary care physicians and behavioral health clinicians to deliver a continuum of care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patient referrals from behavioral health clinicians, evaluating all relevant information.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments for patients referred to your care.
  • Provide direct patient care services within your area of expertise.
  • Manage patient medications and monitor treatment plans.
  • Assess, plan, document, and evaluate patient needs and treatment.
  • Offer consultation to primary care providers regarding patient treatment.
  • Provide crisis intervention and advocacy to patients and their families, taking into account their unique cultural backgrounds.
  • Refer patients as necessary to specialists and other practitioners and facilities.
  • Review patient charts to ensure that treatment plans are developed and followed.
  • Collaborate with other caregivers regarding patient education and rehabilitation.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, behavioral health clinicians, administration, and other clinical staff.
  • Provide consultation to the on-call physician for mental health emergencies.
  • Participate in the Patient Care Committee to monitor and improve patient care quality.
  • Meet productivity expectations as outlined in the contracted agreement.
  • Demonstrate empathy and respond appropriately to patient and staff interactions.

Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts licensure
  • Board certification in Adult Psychiatry; additional certification in children helpful
  • Bilingual preferred
